Wednesday morning classes: three hours per week for bilingual children

For bilingual pupils in kindergarten or primary classes, the Sections Internationales de Sèvres offer three hours of instruction per week on Wednesday mornings from 8:30 to 11:30. For the remainder of the week, pupils attend their local primary school which is generally situated in their home neighbourhood.

  • German Section: children between the ages of 3 and 10.
  • Anglophone Section: children between the ages of 4 and 10.

Classes are held on the premises of the Gambetta primary school in Sèvres and the adjacent pre-school for level P1 anglophone classes. These schools are located just across from the collège.

Classes are open to children who already speak English or German, either because these languages are spoken at home (one or both parents are native speakers) or following a period of expatriation during which the child attended a German or English-speaking school.

Wednesday morning classes, like all SIS classes, are taught exclusively by trained teachers who are native speakers of either English or German. The teachers come from a variety of German or English-speaking countries: the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia...

Pupils follow a serious academic programme that is both fun and creative using songs and poetry and manual activities for the younger students to teach reading, spelling and writing. All students are expected to complete weekly homework assignments.
