Nine pupils from the college in Chaville went to Barnet on the 20th of March (plus Pat and Vicky our teachers).

The trip went well and the arrival in our families was welcoming. Most of us had never been to England before. We found life in our correspondents’ families very different from ours at times.

During our stay we visited: Madame Tussaud’s Museum, Covent Garden, the London Eye. We also took a boat trip on the Thames as far as Grenwich Village, where we visited the Maritime Museum. Another day we climbed the 585 steps to the top of St Paul’s Cathedral and got a great view of London in the sunshine. In each of our families we did other activities (bowling, shopping...)

This trip was constructive in terms of discovering another country and culture. For our English it was a bit less so, even though we constantly spoke English.

A big thank you to Mrs. Short and Mrs. Salmon for accompanying us and to all the people in Barnet who received us.
