A very long time ago, at the bottom of the sea, lived Melchior a very wise wizard. His best friend Jinx Flynn lived in the same little village called Sandywat. Jinx Flynn was a hobbit. Melchior and Jinx knew each other well (they had known each other for 50 years).
One unfortunate morning, when Melchior was picking raspberries for tea, he fell upon a three-headed snake. It hissed at him dangerously. With no time to utter a spell, Melchior was stung. He came back home limping with pain. When Jinx came to knock at the door, and no one answered, he immediately understood that something was wrong. Jinx rushed in and saw Melchior lying on the sofa.
“Are you all right?” asked Jinx worried.
“Yes...Jinx...”he muttered.
“What do I have to fetch to cure you?” asked Jinx.
“Nothing can cure the bite of the three headed snake. He paused, and continued.
“Only...” he muttered.
“Only...?”Jinx asked hurriedly.
“Only the sacred diamond...”
“Where? Where? Where can I find it?” replied Jinx hurriedly.
“In the deep... deep...deep...ruins...of...Mordor”
“I’m going,” said Jinx.
“No ... don’t go! It is too dangerous!”
“Who will then? Replied Jinx firmly, I’m going!” and he left the room.
The next morning, Jinx went back to Milchior’s house and knocked twice.
“Come in!” he answered.
Jinx went in.
“Are you feeling better?” asked Jinx.
“No not at all” he muttered.
“Anyway, I came to say good bye”.
“Really?”
“Yes! Jinx answered firmly. I am adamant and you will not be able to deter me from going!”
“Then, I have to give you some advice...when you arrive at the ruins, you have to remember...he breathed loudly (talking was very tiring) that the ruins are sacred and you mustn’t touch anything otherwise, the spirits will come and kill you...”
“How do you know all that?” asked Jinx.
“Don’t interrupt!” he snapped then, went on “you will find the sacred diamond in the tomb of Isiris.”
“Who’s Isiris?” asked Jinx.
“Isiris ...is a powerful god who once wanted to kill Nazaroth the devil of evil. But, he wasn’t powerful enough...and he failed...”
Jinx gasped.
“How will I be able to kill him then?”
“Oh shut up!” snarled Melchior, “I haven’t finished! Isiris did leave a “Souvenir” for Nazaroth! He left a deep scar behind his left ear. It hasn’t finished healing, although it has been 25 centuries since Isiris was defeated! Nazaroth survived thanks to the sacred diamond.”
“I will never be able to defeat him then!” cried Jinx in despair.
“Yes you will, because the sacred diamond can only work during full moons. So, it is only a question of luck! So be off with you!”
“But, Melchior?” asked Jinx.
“Yes?”
“How long will the poison take to kill you?”
“You have time, my friend; you have time...but be quick! And good luck! Don’t forget what I said!” He handed a sword to Jinx and armour.
“Thank you” and he was off.
The next morning, Jinx was ready. He had a little seahorse who carried all his supplies. He went to see Melchior for the last time.
“Melchior, I’m going!” he said.
“Good luck little hobbit and always remember what I said!”
“I will!” And he left the room.
He mounted his sea horse and they were off.
At first, the sea was calm, only a little current could be felt. Suddenly, a little village could be seen ahead.
“Wavewat!” cried Jinx and he urged his stead on. The next village was Seaweedat, there they stopped to rest and had a snack. When they left Seaweedat, it was almost dark.
“Oh dear, we have been too slow!” cried Jinx.
They continued, faster this time. When it was completely dark, they stopped.
“Well, I think we are lost!” Jinx groaned.
Suddenly, his stead started to swim so fast that Jinx nearly fell. He dashed through the darkness and the night until he could see through the darkness, sparsely dotted lights. His stead went even faster still until they arrived at the entrance of another village.
“Oh thank you my friend!” said Jinx patting his stead eagerly. “This time, we are simply asking for indications, and not eating!”
He rode to a nearby door and knocked twice. An old man answered at the door.

“What do you want?” he asked roughly.
“I would like to ask indications” answered Jinx.
“Be quick then!” screeched the old man.
“I would like to go to Mordor, could you help me?”
“Mordor?” Suddenly, the old man lowered his voice. “You shouldn’t go there, kid, it’s too dangerous.”
“I know, but I have my reasons and...”
“MONEY?????” shrieked the old man. “I can give you indications if you give me money!”
“All right, six goliaths then...” muttered Jinx.
“Deal!” the old man smiled and he showed a row of brown teeth. “You must always walk straight ahead, and never turn.”
“How long will it take to get there?”
“Oh...five days!”
“O.K. thanks” said Jinx and he was off.
Back on the sand, he rode on until he was dead tired. The next few days were quite similar: riding, stopping, eating, sleeping... During five days, Jinx didn’t lose his spirits: he was always cheerful.
One morning, when he was riding quietly, he saw in the distance the ruins of Mordor. He rode slowly to the entrance, with fear creeping up in his stomach... He left his sea horse outside and he entered the ruins...
The inside was extremely dark and Jinx had to light his torch. He moved on carefully looking on each side. After two hours walking in the dark, Jinx stopped. He lay down and curled himself up and tried to sleep. Then, he heard howling. Jinx got up and took out his sword. He felt something brush against his shoulder and then his back...
And like by magic, his torch went out...

Now Jinx was terrified! He slashed his sword around him frantically. He heard a shrill cry, he had hit something! He heard other shrill cries and he felt air brush against him.
Then suddenly, he felt an enormous pain in his back and struggling with pain fell to the ground...
He heard howling, and he felt air brushing against all his body. He fell asleep...
When he woke up, all his body was felt paralysed. He tried to move his arm, but he couldn’t.
Aching with pain he fell asleep...
The next thing he knew was that he was being carried by a monstrous creature and it was getting hotter and hotter every minute! He looked around and saw a hundred of creatures.
Seeing that they hadn’t taken his sword, Jinx saw his chance and dug his sword into the creature’s flesh. It roared with pain and, stumbling to the ground, let go of Jinx. Jinx, seeing his moment, ran, despite the pain, for his life. Now, everyone was after him. He squeezed into a hole and waited. He heard a thunder of rushing feet pass by.
“Phew, that was close!” muttered Jinx and he leaned back against the wall.
Suddenly, a passage opened behind Jinx. He turned and saw a coffin with something shining on it. He rushed to the coffin. Yes, and there it was, the sacred diamond. Jinx put it in his pocket and closed the passage again by leaning on the wall. Out of the hole, Jinx ran until he could not run anymore.
He stopped and panting for breath, heard the most incredible roar.
“RRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!”
Jinx froze with fright and walked until he discovered that he had found NAZAROTH THE DEVIL OF EVIL!!!!!!!!!
He looked up and saw that he was just in front of him!! That was why it was getting so hot! Nazaroth was a creature of fire!!! Nazaroth spat flames at Jinx. Jinx avoided them just in time.
Nazaroth, angrier than ever, reached out for Jinx, and with a burning hand, scorched him badly. Jinx, with his clothes burning, got out his sword, determined. He rushed towards Nazaroth and dug his sword into his knee. Nazaroth roared with laughter.
“YOU THINK YOU CAN HURT ME???” he roared.
Jinx was desperate: how would he be able to climb up to his to his ear?
Suddenly, Jinx had an incredible idea, it was very dangerous, but it was the only way. He dropped to the floor and acting as he was dead, closed his eyes. Nazaroth satisfied, swept down to look at Jinx. Jinx saw his moment and jumped onto Nazaroth’s face. Nazaroth, surprised, caught him before he got to his ear and dropped him on the floor, then he swept Jinx off the floor with his tail.
Jinx flew up, up, up, until he was like a dot of dust and suddenly, came shooting down.
He landed on Nazaroth’s neck.
With no time to react, Jinx dug his sword into his scar.
“RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!” Roared Nazaroth and, stumbling to the ground, died.
Jinx lay down exhausted; he had managed to kill NAZAROTH THE DEVIL OF EVIL!!
He had done it, but he had to find the exit now. Suddenly, he realized the crystal was shining and a path lit up...

“It must be the way out!” murmured Jinx. And he ran all the way. When he was out of the ruins, he saw that his wounds were gone!
“But of course!” Jinx cried. “The sacred diamond healed me!”
He looked up and saw it was full moon. He whistled, and his seahorse arrived. Jinx mounted and they were off.
After five days, they arrived home. Jinx ran to Melchior’s house and rushed in. Melchior was still there, lying on the sofa. Jinx kneeled next to him, the sacred diamond in his hand.
“Melchior? Melchior?” asked Jinx frantically.
Melchior opened his eyes and smiled weakly.
“A-m I d-r-e-a-m-i-n-g?” he murmured slowly.
“No, you are not dreaming!” answered Jinx.
It was beginning to get dark, and Jinx waited until it was night. And it was a full moon!!
The diamond started shining and it healed Melchior.
The next morning, Melchior invited Jinx to have tea. But also to hear about Jinx’s incredible adventures!
