A traditional aspect of the play was the fear which dangled over our heads starting about two weeks before it.
Usually we were afraid that we would never get round to learning those lines, that our costumes were lousy, that the play wouldn’t be as great as last year, or maybe we were apprehensive because Pat Short had just shown us the pink tutu with lace wings we were supposed to wear. This year these worries were not mine anymore, and I understood that they were rather futile. Every year the play is just as great, it’s some sort of law and this year certainly followed it. The acting was brillant, the story was fun, the costumes added a lot to the whole "virtual reality", and I could go on for months praising it. I guess it’s very reassuring for us to see that the next generations can really do as well, in fact maybe better, than we did, and to realise that the play could go on for a very long time with this kind of undying motivation.
