On an early Wednesday in May, every year, P4’s can be seen around the streets of Sevres, appreciating an extension of the classroom outside the walls of Gambetta. This year, following the study of ’Diary of a Worm’, the children went in search of inspiration for their very own diary. Crouching in the ’roseraie’ they studied flowers, fountains, bushes, trees, ants, bugs and even a dog out on his walk. Developing a sense of empathy, writing in the first person and employing personification were all tools that the children would need. Here they are in deep contemplation, along with some examples of their finished diaries.
