Admission to the lycée is subject to an entrance exam, as for the college. The Admission jury’s decision is final and presided over by the Head master/ mistress.
- For pupils who are already in the French system, the exam is based on written and spoken English or German.
- Candidates from abroad, who have not followed the French curriculum, need to sit a written and oral exam in French. A mathematics exam is also necessary for those pupils wanting to take a bac S.
- Pupils applying for a place in the final year of secondary school, must have passed the obligatory French exam of the French bac.

Entrance exam dates
- Regular exam session: Monday, 19 March 2012.
- An additional admissions testing session will be held on Tuesday May 15. 2012
- Additional exam sessions for levels that still have places will be held: Friday 29. June 2012
Experience has shown that all available spaces may be filled at some levels during the regular exam session. It is strongly recommended that candidates sign up for the first session. For the other sessions we recommend that candidates contact the SIS office by e-mail sis@sis-sevres.net to verify if there are still places available.
Organisation: The exams generally start at 8am. They finish at 12pm, if the pupil is only sitting the language tests and 4pm if they sit the tests in mathematics and French.
