Our extended weekend fulfilled and indeed surpassed our expectations.
The setting of the conference at Haileybury : a public school set in acres of land in the Green Belt countryside of Hertfordshire. With its impressive chapel, sports complex, swimming pool, theatre and enormous wood panelled refectory , this was another world and an experience in itself for many !

The MUN was intense with lobbying between delegates to get countries to support resolutions, delivering of policy statements where each student addressed his committee, animated debate on the resolutions passed by the approval panel in committees and then finally at the General Assembly on Sunday afternoon.
The students had all prepared their roles and resolutions before leaving for Haileybury and took full part in their committees. Indeed Claire’s, Laura’s and Sam’s resolutions were submitted to the Advisory Panel with Claire’s going on to be debated at the General Assembly.
They were also up for all the other activities organised for the delegates from the futuristic disco to the MUN chapel service. Their behaviour and enthusiasm were a credit to both us and the SIS.

Our thanks also go to Ms Kate Moss for travelling to Paris on our Eurostar on Sunday evening ! Much appreciated by the students, this rounded off an exhausting but very worthwhile and enjoyable weekend !
Our thanks go to the students who participated :
