This summer, I had the opportunity to go to the other side of the planet and discover a lovely country: Australia.
It was winter there, but it has nothing to do with the French winter: it is more like autumn temperatures with a very nice blue sky (it almost never rained)!
It was so funny to see my exchange partner’s mother getting very stressed when I didn’t wear a scarf when it was 15 degrees outside!
Of course the weather was not the only difference with France. First of all, there was the school uniform (so much fun!), I felt like a student in Harry Potter while wearing it.
At school, they have very entertaining subjects such as cooking, art, drama, orchestra etc... And they finish at 3:30 at the latest which enables them to do everything they want during the evening.
As for my exchange partner, we got on so well that we called each other “sisters”.
I had such a good time thanks to her and her family: We did a lot of shopping, went to the cinema, to football matches, visited Melbourne and spent two days in the countryside...
To top it off she is such an artist: she plays the piano, the violin and the harp at an excellent level. I miss her and her friends a lot and can’t wait to see her in two months time!
I hope she will enjoy her stay in France as much as I enjoyed mine in Australia!
