by Cornelia Bacchiocchi , parent
Parent, Cornelia Bacchiocchi playfully praises the Jolly Phonics method used in P1 classes to learn the sounds of the English language.
Learning letter sounds in P1,
Parents both coming from near and far,
Courbevoie, Colombes, Bougival
Meudon, Ville d’Avray and Chatillon
Can be fun
Joining our tails at tea or tennis
Sounding ourselves with action
Finding new friends in
Story bags with snacks to share
Is entertaining
Inky the mouse, bee and snaky snake
Playing bat and ball in the park
Pppp pppuffing to blow a candle
Bang banging a drum, hop hopping to pant hh hh hh
Can be exhausting
Blending sounds, writing in spaces,
Growling like a dog, licking a lolly
Rubbing growling tummies
Dog, cat, frog and hat now familiar faces
It is JOLLY
Many still so tricky
Look, cover, write and check
Vowels, long and short,
Only one doing all the talking
Oa, ai, ie and ee, hip hip h............
HATS OFF TO MARIANNIC AND SALLY
