Life Down Under

I saw kangaroos and koalas in the rainforests

By Madeleine Harion (MLC Exchange)

I went to Australia this summer and I really enjoyed it. I visited the Great Ocean Road, where we had a dreadful weather but an amazing time.

We went to the beach to see the 12 apostles which are cliffs that have been broken into pieces by the waves to form enormous rocks standing along the coast), it was spectacular.

I saw kangaroos and koalas in the rainforests; we were surrounded by eucalyptuses (gum trees) and cockatoos. I got along very well with my exchange partner and with her family.

I loved coming home after school, laughing even while doing our homework altogether in the living room. The school was huge with hundreds of great facilities: gym, swimming pool. I made a lot of friends there.

I had a great time in Australia; I even loved waking up at 4am to watch the World Cup soccer games with all the family supporting me!
