Homework in Primary

These details are an indication for both parents and pupils as to how much time they should expect to devote to English homework per week.
At the first staff meeting of the 2006 - 2007 year, the primary teachers agreed on guidelines for homework and these are set out below.
P1
- 5 - 10 mins. daily reviewing sounds / reading
P2
- 5 - 10 mins daily reviewing sounds / reading + writing for 15 mins per week
P3
- 10 mins daily reading / spelling + writing for 30 mins per week
P4
- minimum 10 mins daily reading + writing for 40 mins per week
P5
- minimum 10 mins daily reading + writing for 50mins per week
P6
- minimum 10 mins daily reading + writing for 1 hour per week
