Greek Plays for 6ème

Toutes les 6èmes de Chaville et de Sèvres étaient réunies pour mettre en scène quelques unes des plus belles tragédies et comédies greques. Boite de Pandorre, Lysistrata.... Merci aux professeurs pour ce beau travail de mise en scène, en particulier Vicki Salmon, Ruairi McCann et Pat Short. Un grand bravo aussi aux élèves pour la réalisation des costumes, des décors et des accessoires !
A new fashion is sure to take the college by storm this Spring : girls will be wearing long, belted, white bedsheets and boys charming short tunics and breastplates…..
Parents were treated to an evening packed full of drama and humour at the Jean Moulin College last Thursday as they were taken back in time to an era of Greek gods, heroes and heroines by the sixièmes SIS classes of both Sèvres and Chaville. We were reminded how brave Prometheus stole fire from the selfish gods up on Mount Olympus in order to keep us poor mortals warm over this chilly Winter. We remembered how Pandora perhaps really should have listened to her husband this once and not let out all our awful sins from that enormous box (how did they all fit in ??).
We relived the epic voyage of Ulysses who successfully resisted the temptations of 3 gorgeous mermaids and their rendition of James Brown’s “I feel good”. We realized that strikes are far from a modern problem as the women of Troy swore to deprive their men folk of all their services and attentions until they put an end to their fighting (which worked perfectly of course, as we all know they can’t live without us). We sympathised with Cassandra’s frustrations in the face of everyone’s belief that you can’t look a gift horse in the mouth, even if it is very large and made of wood.
