Contract between the student and the SIS
I am aware that an International Education in the Collège or Lycée of the Sections Internationales de Sèvres requires a serious investment on my part. I therefore promise to :
1 - Abide by the rules and regulations of the Collège and the Lycée and show respect and consideration to all who work here.
2 - Respect the rules and procedures relating to schoolwork in all subjects. This implies both personal investment and good will to do the following :
- To work to the best of my ability in order to progress academically.
- To complete all classwork or homework assignments on time.
- To attend classes regularly.
- To be attentive and participate positively in class.
- To ask my teachers for help with any difficulties I may have
- To follow advice given to me by my teachers.
- To respect and be attentive to the needs of my fellow students.
3 - Respect the rules and regulations specific to the International Sections which implies the following :
- To speak only English during International classes.
- To participate as fully as possible in extra curricular international activities and trips.
- To spend at least 2 weeks a year in an English speaking country
- To develop my interest and understanding of the English/German culture and language by travelling, reading and following the media.
- To listen to others and show respect for their opinions and experiences.
- To respect all rules and regulations concerning shared resources, such as the International libraries or study rooms.
- To help create a climate of respect and openness at all times within the school.
If there is no opportunity at home for pupils to practise speaking English, or if results are disappointing, a tutor might have to be envisaged
I am aware of the importance of the part I have to play within the Sections and the Collège / Lycée and that a lack of respect for the above rules and regulations will lead to my losing my place in the SIS. I also agree that, in the case of ‘redoublement’, my place in the Sections is not automatically ensured, but will depend on the decision of the Conseil SIS. For their part, SIS teachers undertake to help each student progress and succeed. Each teacher will aim at providing a stimulating educational environment which emphasizes the languages and cultures represented in the SIS.
