Carol Cretaigne
A member of college staff since 2010, Carol teaches a class of 5ème students, some of whom find her in front of them for a second time. No stranger to the SIS, Carol has been on the primary anglophone staff since 1999. Initially trained to teach English as a second language (TEFL delivered by Rutgers University) she discovered the SIS through the experience of having her own children enrolled in the ’Sections’. Currently seeking to forward her literary training by studying towards a humanities degree with Open University, Carol enjoys the challenge of becoming a student again. “An experience everybody should try !” A professional background in theatre (and classical dance training) comes into use when helping students rehearse for the SIS annual play, and also when helping Candi Buxton by choreographing moves for the college choir.
Membre de l’équipe SIS du collège depuis 2010, Carol enseigne une classe de 5ème. Certains élèves retrouve Carol comme professeur après l’avoir eu en section primaire. Elle fait partie de l’équipe SIS primaire anglophone depuis 1999. Formée initialement pour enseigner l’anglais en tant que langue étrangère (TEFL de l’Université Rutgers, USA) Carol a découverte les ’Sections’ par l’éducation SIS de ses propres enfants. Cherchant actuellement à enrichir sa formation littéraire, elle poursuit des études vers une maitrise en ’humanités’ avec ’Open Unversity’. Elle trouve le challenge de reprendre des études motivant, et le conseille à tout le monde ! De l’ expérience professionnelle dans le theatre (et formation de danse classique) devient utile pour aider les étudiants à répéter pour le ’Play’ annuel, et aussi pour aider Candi Buxton avec la chorale du collège en créant leur chorégraphy.
