Well done everybody who passed the CPE this year (Grades A-C) ! With 60 candidates we had a pass rate of 87%, of whom 20% had Grade A.
The Cambridge Proficiency is notoriously difficult - it is the top of the range of the Cambridge ESOL Language examinations. It is the equivalent, in terms of difficulty, of an A Level in English Language, and in some developing countries has been recognised as a teaching diploma, the equivalent of a sort of CAPES !
It is recognised throughout the Anglophone world (unlike the OIB, which is less well known outside France) and is recognised by universities as a guarantee of a level of English where university courses can be followed with no difficulty at all.
Of course, this also applies to the OIB, which is equally a guarantee of an English level suitable for university courses. Finally, we believe it is good to test your English and obtain an objective assessment at the highest level. This is one of the reasons why we offer our students so many exams during the course of their studies (FCE, IGCSEs, CAE, CPE).
