After graduating with a Master from HEC (1984), I worked as an auditor for the pharmaceutical giant Rhône-Poulenc (now Sanofi-Aventis), for 8 years.
As an auditor, I was lucky enough to work on numerous overseas assignments : in Germany & Austria, as I speak German, and also South Korea (a memorable experience), the USA, Italy and the Netherlands.
I concluded that speaking a foreign language is only a small step to working successfully with international partners : the real challenge is a deeper understanding of how people abroad live and work.
In 1992 I stopped travelling and joined Supélec, one of the famous Paris based engineering colleges. I worked there for 13 years and immensely enjoyed the work. I was given the chance to lead several key projects, such as the overhaul of the IT systems, a number of important real estate projects, the financing of several European research projects and last but not least, taking part in an audit by the French National Audit Office.
During this period my children were born, and I somehow managed to juggle between the twin challenges of being a mother and General Secretary of Supélec .
In 2005, I decided it was time for a change in career although I had a strong desire to remain in Education. The post of Head of the SIS filled this criteria perfectly. It brought me back to my international roots, which I had never quite left as some 30% of students in Supélec had studied abroad, whilst remaining in the world of Education.
I am passionate about the SIS project. In a time of constant change and adaptation, our SIS pupils are well equipped. They live and learn in two completely different albeit complementary cultures ... one does not structure essays in French, English or German in the same fashion !
Benefiting from the best of two educative systems in the course of a journey that takes them from Primary to Baccalauréat, our pupils learn individual freedom and self reliance. Beyond the strict borders of academic achievement, isn’t this the goal of Education with a capital "E" ?
