Post Bac Studies

Higher Education - Information

Stay in France for ‘prépa’, university or business school - or leave to study in the UK, the USA, Germany or somewhere else. How to choose?

En français Auf Deutsch

SIS students have many options in higher education, including studying abroad.

To help students make up their minds, the SIS organizes regular meetings in the years leading up to the baccalaureate. Speakers at these meetings include:

  • representatives from foreign universities,
  • representatives from French schools and universities,
  • former students (read more about the post-bac evening)
  • representatives from various secteurs of the workplace to talk about their professions.

These meetings generally occur during the first term of the school year. They are open to both international and national students providing an additional venue for exchanges.

The German section organizes a meeting for lycée students with counselors who come directly from Germany.

70% of our students continue their studies in France. The remaining quarter choose to study in other countries, especially in the UK.

Their choices are varied - as shown in the chart - but they generally choose career-oriented studies.
Close to 34% of those students who choose to stay in France - compared with just 13% nationally - gain admission to the prestigious “classes préparatoires,” renowned for their rigorous selection procedures and demanding work schedules.

Our students are therefore well-prepared to continue into higher education.
